The UK spends more than £6.5 billion on defence equipment and support each year procuring everything from submarines to socks, which means there are opportunities in the sector for almost all types of manufacturers in the UK. With contribution to national prosperity now a measure by which those in charge of the UK’s defence budget are measured, it is in everyone’s interest to source new and innovative suppliers in the UK to deliver better kit, at better value, for our Armed Forces. Make UK and NDI are working to make this happen. At the recent MAKE UK National Manufacturing Conference, Jaltek’s Stephen Blythe, was part of a panel of industry representatives discussing; ‘How to win business in defence’.
