Jaltek is delighted to have been recognised for ‘Continuing Commitment to the BSI Kitemark for Electronic Assemblies’. BSI, the British Standards Institution, presented Jaltek with an Award to recognise a decade of holding the BSI Kitemark – one of the first companies in this sector to reach such a milestone.

The BSI Kitemark is a registered certification mark owned and operated by BSI. It is one of the most recognised symbols of quality and safety and offers true value to consumers, businesses and procurement practices. With BSI being UKAS accredited – benefits of the Kitemark include risk reduction, increased customer satisfaction and access to new customers around the world.

The BSI Kitemark for Electronics Assembly is based on the IPC standard, IPC-A-610, “Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies”, a well- established standard in the electronics industry. Whilst any business can claim to work to IPC-A-610, meeting the requirements of the BSI Kitemark for Electronic Assembles requires a business to successfully undergo a bi-annual series of thorough inspections, carried out by a BSI Assessor. Every element that is tied in with the quality of the boards is examined. Not only are the finished products inspected, but process controls that are in place are also examined and training records checked. Once the assessment has been carried out a report is completed which is further scrutinised by BSI’s Certification Manager. Once satisfied with the results of the assessment the certificate of recommendation is then submitted for independent review by the BSI Compliance department.

Complimenting this Kitemark, Jaltek are also certified to two other quality assurance schemes with BSI: ISO 13485 quality management system for the Medical Devices sector, and AS9100 the quality management system for the aviation industry.
